We are interested in the energy level alignment and non-equilibrium properties of solid-molecule interfaces, which are highly relevant for electrochemical and catalytic applications. Electron transfer, localization, and solvation phenomena in polar environments as well as polaron formation and activation of reactants are exemplary processes we investigate. As summarized here, we recently succeeded in observing the birth of a solvated electron in amorpous solid water. |
